There is a very simple, common sense process that every applicant must go through to qualify for membership with Therapy Dogs, Inc. 

First, the applicant goes through the qualification testing.  Second, the dog/handler team must have a minimum of three observation visits before the tester/observer is able to sign off.  The applicant then submits his/her application package to Therapy Dogs, Inc. (TDInc) for approval.

When approved, Therapy Dogs, Inc. will issue a registration card and Red Heart tag for the dog to wear whenever the dog/handler team is representing TDInc. in an animal-assisted activity.

TDInc. provides the guidelines for independent  organizations or individuals to follow for their animal-assisted activities, as well as the testing, registration and liability insurance for all Dog/Handler Teams who are members.
